Simplicity does not reduce appetite. It gives it a focal point.
The shoot moves between products with different forms, textures, and serving styles. Each frame needed one clear appetite cue capable of presenting the product quickly and directly.
The Visual Challenge
Product variety should not force every image into a different visual style.
Sandwiches, grilled dishes, and shared plates require different angles. Completely different treatments would have made the shoot feel disconnected. The system needed to remain consistent while adapting.
The Decision
One appetite cue leads each frame.
In one image it is the grill marks. In another, steam, melted cheese, or the hand revealing the filling. The strongest product detail was identified and the composition was built around it.
Composition
The background becomes quiet so texture can lead.
Restrained backgrounds and direct framing gave the product the largest share of attention. Close images revealed texture, while wider compositions clarified scale and accompaniments.
Movement and Detail
The product appears at its most appetising moment.
Holding, serving, and separating the food added immediacy. The products appeared at the moment their strongest detail became visible.
Selected Work
We removed what stood between the audience and the food.
The images connect different products through clarity, focus, and proximity to texture. We did not add more elements to make the imagery feel richer.
